Join Crete Creative after the Opening Reception & Art Market for "Awakening: A Sacred Story of Contemporary Myaamia Art." We welcome Myaamia tribe voices to the stage and lead a presentation for all to engage with. Learn a brief history of the "Myaamiaki" people who lived in the region, their removal from their homelands, and the process of language and cultural "Awakening." Exhibiting artists, tribe members, and community organizers will be present to discuss, answer questions, and give additional cultural context to the artwork on display in the gallery.
