The Illinois Department on Aging (IDoA), in partnership with the Illinois Assistive Technology Program (IATP, provides support aimed at enabling social connectedness, maintaining health, safety, and well-being; and promoting independence and community living.

IATP provides free information and assistance on assistive technology and other related disability and aging topics. IATP can help you with information on:

  • Our programs and services
  • Assistive technology devices and/or services
  • Where and how to see and try AT devices before making a purchasing decision
  • Donating or obtaining gently used AT devices
  • Device training
  • AT assessments and evaluations
  • Successful implementation of AT for community living, education, and employment
  • Costs of AT and funding resources
  • AT legislation and advocacy
  • AT Manufacturers and Vendors
  • Disability and Aging services and organizations
  • Other information related to assistive technology
