The Illinois Department on Aging (IDoA), in partnership with the Illinois Assistive Technology Program (IATP, provides support aimed at enabling social connectedness, maintaining health, safety, and well-being; and promoting independence and community living.
IATP provides free information and assistance on assistive technology and other related disability and aging topics. IATP can help you with information on:
- Our programs and services
- Assistive technology devices and/or services
- Where and how to see and try AT devices before making a purchasing decision
- Donating or obtaining gently used AT devices
- Device training
- AT assessments and evaluations
- Successful implementation of AT for community living, education, and employment
- Costs of AT and funding resources
- AT legislation and advocacy
- AT Manufacturers and Vendors
- Disability and Aging services and organizations
- Other information related to assistive technology
