Event Details
Presented by Crete Creative Art Gallery and School, this three-part oil painting workshop is designed for artists who have some prior painting experience and are ready to build on their skills in a supportive, guided setting.
Over the course of three sessions, participants will create a 16x20 painting of a tricolored heron while being introduced to a layered approach for developing depth, atmosphere, and form.
We will begin by establishing a tonal ground and using a simplified subtractive method to block in the image. In the second session, students will be introduced to oil glazing techniques to build color and richness. The final session will focus on opaque application, refining key areas, and bringing the painting to completion.
All materials will be provided. Please wear clothes you don't mind being permanently stained.
